Spring on Kintyre – The landscape emerges from it's stark bare structure with a cloak of soft lime greens and interesting browns, all set against the gentle azure skies reflected in the ever changing lochs and bays. The meadows and banks show off their carpets of daffodils and bluebells.

APRIL/MAY - Sunday 28/4 to Saturday 4/5 - 5 Day Course

Free the Creative Powers with Fiona Macrae
The course is designed to encourage gathering what attracts you from from the landscape - looking and looking again at colour, texture, light and form and using usual and unusual materials to record images and feelings. The sketchbook will be the fundamental tool from which to create your works of art. Designed for all levels of ability.

Fiona loves Johannes Itten’s ideas about colour relationships, he was a highly regarded colour theorist associated with the Bauhaus in the 1920’s and 30’s.



MAY - Sunday 19/5 to Saturday 25/5 - 5 day Course

Discover Pattern and Texture in the Landscape with Karen Beauchamp
An exhilarating learning experience for all levels including assimilation of information with your senses and unravelling of the intricacies of colour and shape to form an image. A fully guided experience for all with one to one tuition. Karen is an enthusiastic and stimulating tutor, with a deep knowledge of drawing, painting and printmaking.

JUNE - Sunday 2/6 to Saturday 8/6 - 5 day Course

New Ways of Looking with Hannah Tofts
Time to see the emerging beauty of the landscape and to rejoice in the new shapes and colours. Research and sketch on location most days and return to the comfort of the studio to develop your images and composition in any medium. Hannah is a very stimulating tutor and delights in spending time with her students to help them develop their own style.


Autumn in Argyll - Work with the turning colours of the Summer’s growth, purples and reds, ochre’s and raw umbers next to turquoise and soft blue ray rocks and the sharp limey green lichens on the shore.

SEPTEMBER - Sunday 1/9 to Saturday 7/9 - 5 Day Course
